Shown in reds and gold, the Green Wall panels can be made to order any size and colour. This installation incorporates the idea and beauty of a living wall using glass to explore the principles of creating in a green way. Each piece is made using reclaimed window glass, recycled glass shards and reclaimed wine bottle glass. Each panel, 12"X12" for a total of 9 panels. A green wall is a wall, either free-standing or part of a building, that is partially or completely covered with vegetation and, in some cases, soil or an inorganic growing medium. The vegetation for a green facade is always attached on outside walls; with living walls this is also usually the case, although some living walls can also be green walls for interior use. They are also referred to as living walls, biowalls, or vertical gardens. Tsunami recognizes the importance of exercising green ways of living to contribute to the solution of stabilizing the environment that we live in. Also that glassmaking is a major consumer of energy and heavy in greenhouse emissions. We cannot eliminate the energy that we use in totality, but that there is room to reduce our consumption throughout the glassmaking process.
